The Aberdeen Election is still November 6th.
Steve Johnson has dropped his case that was potentially delaying the city elections for mayor and council. According to Johnson:
“It’s really not about me, it’s about the best interest of the city,
and delaying the elections is not in the city’s best interest,” Johnson
said.

Thank goodness the man came to his senses. Honestly…
Did anyone see Steve Johnson’s performance at the City Council meeting (Oct 22nd)? Ruth Ann Young’s husband stood up to speak and told the Council that they should go after Johnson for restitution after the City had to spend ‘a few thousand’ dollars defending the City Charter. Johnson became extremely upset and actually stared an 80-something year old man down! If looks could kill. What a tough guy he is! His bullish tactics may intimdate senior citizens, but would he do someone more his own age?
While I wasn’t there, I do look forward to reading about it the city council minutes… two months from now. That’s about when they will finally get them up on the city’s website. Don’t you love open and efficient government?
It always amazes me how someone has a comment, or their version of the story, but will not step up to the plate and give their correct name. Instead they sneak around in the shadows throwing accusations. I am not made that way. If I have something to say, I will say it to you. I want you to know where it’s coming from. That was true in the Monday night council meeting. I was turning facing the audience, as well as the Mayor, and Council members. There was no glare at anyone. Least of all Mr. Young. If Mr. Young was truely interested in how the tax payers money was spent, he would be asking why the City Officials did not give me fare, and impartial, due process that led to the filing in the courts. Why the City hired an Anapolis attorney, instead of the attorny they have on retainer. (The Mayor made a statement in the paper that it was because he was an expert on political law), but in the council meeting they said it was because the City Attorny was ill. I can tell you that my Attorny had corresponded with the City Attorny through the whole process. If some of these folks would put as much energy into checking out the constitutional flause in our city charter, and trying to make sure that our citizens rights were not being violated by our charter, instead of hiding behind fake names, to sling mud, Aberdeen would be a much nicer place. If you want to get involved, get involved to make a possative change in your community. Stop hiding in the shadows, COME OUT AND HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Steve Johnson
It’s a shame you dropped your challenge. Public life appears difficult for you and it would have been fun seeing your reactions to stress. Is it true you were just testing the waters for Helton to make a potential run?
And the glare was there, tough guy. I was there and saw it, everyone that was there saw it. He ticked you off, and you made sure he knew it. What were you goning to do, beat him up? I guess you like to intimidate people. Don’t you have a history of that?
