Joppatowne’s Homeland Security Magnet program making waves in blogosphere
See what I did there in the title? Joppatowne High "making waves"? You know, their mascot is the Mariners? Get it? Not funny? Let’s move on then
Joppatowne’s Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (HSEP) program has caused a stir among some bloggers, even to the point where it has reached one of the most trafficed blogs on the net.
While it seems most of the commenters are jumping to conclusions about the program, they do bring up a valid point. How many of you out there even know about this program? Here is a bit of info from HCPS’s website:
The mission of the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Magnet
Program is to provide to the students of Harford County and eventually
to the State of Maryland, the ability to have access to career pathways
in homeland security studies to offer them a better education and more
choices to allow them to provide services back to the community, the
State and the Nation.
The Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Magnet Program will include three career pathways:
- Science, Engineering & Technology
- Homeland Security Sciences, Health & Human Services
- Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement, Business, Finance and Information Technology, Information/Communication Technology
