Rumor: Police-Involved Shooting in Aberdeen
Anybody else hear about this? Got the tip from someone that heard it on the mid-day news. Can’t find anything online right now about it. Will update when more details are found.
UPDATED: Ok, here is some more info from WJZ.
It happened just before 11:30 a.m. in the 600 block of S. Philadelphia Boulevard in Aberdeen.
Police were answering a call for a suspicious person in the back of a business.
Police say the suspect had a gun and failed to obey the officer’s orders to drop the gun.
When
the suspect raised the weapon in a threatening manor, the officer fired
his gun twice. The suspect was hit and flown to Shock Trauma. The
condition of the suspect is not known at this time.
For a point of reference, the 600 block of Route 40 is where the 7-11 is located.
UPDATE #2: According to the Baltimore Sun, the police-involved shooting occured at the Ken’s Motel, which is right next to the formal Colonel’s Choice and Maaco.
LAST UPDATE: The Baltimore Sun has the latest details on the incident here.

Well the Mayor wanted Aggressive officers( comment in the record last Friday)
I wonder were he will go with this ??
…then I have no problem with the police being aggressive in this case. Maybe it’s time for the city, as well as the rest of the Route 40 areas, to crackdown on these "hotels"? They had their place when Route 40 was the main highway, but now they appear to be nothing more than havens for drug dealers and users, prostitutes, and gun-carrying crazies. I understand that some that are "down on their luck" are forced to live in these hotels, but maybe the county and city can help them with alternatives, and force these hotels out of business?
