C-Mart Sold, To Begin Selling Online

It was big news when we found out C-Mart was expanding, opening up a new, bigger location in Landover. In even bigger news, the owners of C-Mart have sold their controlling interest of the company to The Asset Store, a Baltimore-based online liquidator. Looks like there will be a lot of work to do to get the stores up and running online.

From the article at The Examiner:

"The entire store will slowly become computerized, Silberg said, adding
that everything will be available for purchase online through the
creation of a highly organized inventory and bar-coding system."

Competing in the local market is one thing. C-Mart ruled the liquidation business around here. The web is a totally different story. Nevertheless, the store is, and will hopefully continue to be, an icon in Harford County. We wish them the best!
